Association of Italian entrepreneurs Set up in Belarus

MINSK, 3 November (BelTA) – An association of Italian entrepreneurs has been set up in Belarus, under the auspices of the General Confederation of Italian Industry (Confindustria). The signing ceremony took place at the Embassy of Italy in Minsk on 3 November, BelTA has learned.

The association has been founded by several major Italian companies, Belarusian-Italian enterprises and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Italy-Belarus. The association said it is open to new companies, including small and medium-sized businesses.

“Our goal was to set up a non-profit organization which would contribute to the increase of the Italian business presence in Belarus and would add the Italian flavor and manner of doing business to local business,” president of the association, director of OAO Seismotekhnika Marco Tozzi told reporters.

The confederation will help Italian entrepreneurs to start and run a business in Belarus. In the near future, the association will develop a program of action to help businesspeople meet with representatives of state authorities in Belarus, learn more about the country and promising investment areas.

According to Italy’s Ambassador to Belarus Stefano Bianchi, establishing such an association confirms the trust and interest of Italian businesses in cooperation with Belarusian companies. This suggests that there are favorable conditions for doing business and promoting international cooperation, and that the business climate is improving,” the diplomat said.
