MOSCOW, 28 December (BelTA) - Belarus-Russia trade in 2025 will hit another milestone of more than $60 billion, Belarusian Ambassador to Russia Aleksandr Rogozhnik told the media, BelTA has learned.

“This year is another record year. I hope we will finish 2025 with more than $60 billion [in Belarusian-Russian trade]. Therefore, despite all the difficulties arising today due to the cooling of the Russian economy, this still hasn't become an obstacle for us, and the trade is still growing,” the ambassador said.

He stated that Western sanctions have practically no impact on trade between Belarus and Russia. “Today, we essentially no longer feel these sanctions; all issues have been fundamentally resolved. Yes, there were initial logistical challenges, but now, with Russia's support, we face no difficulties in exporting our products,” Ambassador Aleksandr Rogozhnik emphasized.

When asked which Russian region had seen the most fruitful cooperation with Belarus in 2025, the ambassador replied: “I really wouldn't want to single out any particular region. Each one has its own unique strengths. This includes the construction of schools in Voronezh Oblast, a major project for supplying equipment to Kirov Oblast that is currently under consideration, an excellent project for delivering equipment to Krasnoyarsk Territory and St. Petersburg, and a remarkable project in Tatarstan as well. In all regions, from Vladivostok to Pskov, we have a very, very extensive agenda. This covers gas infrastructure development, construction of kindergartens and maternity hospitals, and the supply of industrial goods.”

“We have worked exceptionally well on supplying food products to Russia this year. We have secured direct contracts with all major retail chains which now effectively shape the retail within the Russian Federation. We have also resolved the issue of access for light industry goods into these networks and opened a branded zone in a retail chain for selling household appliances. This is a significant body of work that we have managed to get off the ground,” Ambassador Aleksandr Rogozhnik said.

“Most importantly, we have accomplished the task set by the president; we have eliminated the intermediary links that previously existed. Today, we are increasing profits for our producers,” the Belarusian ambassador noted.
