MINSK, 16 October (BelTA) – Belarusian food exports to Kazakhstan have grown significantly this year, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Kazakhstan Aleksei Bogdanov said at the plenary session of the Belarus’ Dairy Industry international forum (11th edition) in Minsk on 16 October, BelTA has learned.
The ambassador explained how Belarus can expand its presence in Kazakhstan’s market. “We are implementing a range of mutually beneficial projects across various sectors. Kazakhstan’s market is vast and growing rapidly. Under the influence of globalization, dairy products are becoming increasingly popular,” he said. “If we analyze statistical data, Belarusian food exports to Kazakhstan in January-August 2025 surged by 26.4%. Last year, Kazakhstan imported 183,000 tonnes of dairy products, including 55,300 tonnes of cheese and curd, 45,000 tonnes of yogurts, kefir, and other fermented milk products, almost 32,000 tonnes of milk and cream, and 36,100 tonnes of condensed and powdered milk.”
Local producers do not fully meet the needs of the population, so imports are an important element of Kazakhstan’s food balance. Belarusian products are also widely available on the market. “Kazakhstan has developed its own trading system, different from Belarus’. We need to work with all companies, using all available tools,” the diplomat emphasized.
One of the effective forms of product promotion is participation in specialized exhibitions. For example, the KazAgro/KazFarm exhibition will be held in Astana on 22-24 October, and the 27th Central Asian International Food Industry Exhibition FoodExpo Qazaqstan will take place in Almaty on 12-14 November. As part of the first event, the Belarusian Embassy together with the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry has scheduled the first Belarus-Kazakhstan Agrarian Forum. The purpose of the event is to showcase Belarus’ experience in developing its agro-industrial complex.
“We invite all interested parties to take part. The level of trust and loyalty among Kazakhstan’s population toward Belarus is very high. Belarusian brands have become recognizable, and this is the main factor of success,” Ambassador Aleksei Bogdanov noted.
