MINSK, 1 October (BelTA) – Air China is going to open a representative office in Belarus, BelTA learned from the website of the National Airport Minsk.

Air China’s office is supposed to be located in the National Airport Minsk. Air China is the third largest air carrier in terms of the number of aircraft.

Representatives of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA that Air China’s representative office in Belarus was registered on 16 September.

BelTA reported earlier that Air China’s first regular flight from Beijing to Minsk took place on 1 May 2015. Since then Air China has been offering four flights per week along the route Beijing – Minsk – Budapest – Beijing.

Air China is owned by the Chinese government. It is a flagship air carrier and the only air carrier, which aircraft bear the image of China’s flag. Air China’s key hubs are the Beijing Capital International Airport, Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport, and Shanghai Pudong International Airport. Most of the flights go via the Beijing airport.

The National Airport Minsk is Belarus' first international airport that has been certified for compliance with the international standard ISO 9001. The airport is home to the national air carrier Belavia and the cargo carriers Transaviaexport, Rubystar, and Genex. The airport offers flights to over 40 destinations in Europe, the Middle East, and other regions.
