About 200 producers from 19 countries partaking in Minsk industrial expos

MINSK, 5 April (BelTA) – A number of big industrial and technological exhibitions, namely Mechanical Engineering, Litmetexpo. Casting and Metallurgy, Welding and Cutting and Corrosion Prevention. Covering, opened in Minsk on 5 April, BelTA has learned.

Partaking in them are nearly 200 producers from 19 countries, among which are Germany, Spain, Italy, Turkey, Switzerland, Russia.

“Belarusian machine-building companies are also displayed at the expos. The Mechanical Engineering exhibition is as representative as always and provides an opportunity to demonstrate equipment that helps improve the quality of the product, reduce the prime cost and enhance competitive edge,” First Deputy Industry Minister Gennady Svidersky stressed after the official opening of the event.

In his words, the Belarusian economy is export-oriented that is why the country’s industry should be guided by the best global practices. “As for the development strategy for machine-building companies for instance, we are in talks with the leading companies of not only Russia and also Europe, America and South Korea. It is important to draw the best competencies to the country in order to offer then a competitive product that will both contribute to the country’s import-substitution program and exports,” Gennady Svidersky explained.

The country’s biggest industrial and technological forum is underway in Minsk on 5-8 April. The forum features well-known exhibitions Mechanical Engineering, Litmetexpo. Casting and Metallurgy, Welding and Cutting and Corrosion Prevention. Covering. The exhibitions cover a wide range of industrial technologies in mechanical engineering, metal working, construction materials and the efficient use of resources.

The official support is provided by the Industry Ministry of Belarus, Russia’s Stankoinstrument Association, the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the Belarusian National Technical University, the Association of Casters and Metallurgists of Belarus.
