Artists from nine countries to take part in Belarusian Musical Autumn festival

MINSK, 28 October (BelTA) - Musicians from nine countries will participate in the 40th edition of the Belarusian Musical Autumn international festival of arts which will take place from 28 October to 27 November, BelTA learned from the Belarusian State Philharmonic Society, which traditionally hosts this festival.

The program of the forum will feature various genres of classical music and also folk, pop, jazz, and choreographic art.

The festival will open with a concert “Cimbalom Virtuoso” by the winners of international contests Alexander Denisenya and Mikhail Leonchik from the Zhinovich National Academic People’s Orchestra of the Republic of Belarus.

The classical music program will feature symphony and chamber orchestra concerts, a performance of the Glinka String Quartet from Moscow and great jazz artists Vladimir Chekasin and Pyatras Genyushas, and young talents from Belarus - holders of the scholarships of the President of Belarus.

The festival will pay tribute to the 85th anniversary of composer Evgeny Glebov. A concert on the stage of the Belarusian State Philharmonic Society will feature the Symphony Orchestra of the Belarusian State Academy of Music and students and teachers from Glebov’s music school of arts No. 10.

The final event of the Belarusian Musical Autumn will be a concert by the Tsitovich National Choir under the conduct of People's Artist Mikhail Drinevsky.

The festival of arts will also include concerts by the State Chamber Orchestra of the Republic of Belarus, the Belarusian folk music group "Svyata", the State Dance Ensemble of Belarus, the Chamber Soloists of Minsk and many other events.
