MINSK, 2 September (BelTA) - Belarus attaches great importance to partnership and comprehensive cooperation as part of the integration association of the post-Soviet countries, says the greeting message from Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko which was read out by Acting State Secretary of the Security Council Stanislav Zas at a meeting of the CIS Council of Interior Ministers, BelTA has learned.
"The Republic of Belarus attaches great importance to partnership and comprehensive cooperation as part of the integration association of the post-Soviet countries. The need to the strengthen cooperation in law enforcement is due to the commonality of approaches employed by the interior ministries to combat crime and the understanding that only by collective efforts we can confront criminal threats and new challenges,” reads the message from the head of state.
According to Alexander Lukashenko, it is gratifying to note that the decisions taken and implemented by the Council of Interior Ministers significantly helped solve hundreds of crimes, detent a significant number of criminals. The practice shows that the joint actions to ensure the safety of people bring real results and have real prospects.
As was reported Minsk is playing host to a meeting of the CIS Council of Interior Ministers. The event has brought together the delegations from the interior ministries/police of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, and also representatives of the CIS Executive Committee, the CIS office for the coordination of the fight against organized crime and other dangerous crimes, and the government bodies of Belarus.
The CIS Interior Ministers gathered in Minsk to consider countering cybercrime, thefts of vehicles, fight against trafficking of new psychoactive and psychotropic substances and drugs, and also the unruly and destructive behavior by representatives of the sport fans’ informal associations.
