Belarusian wins children music contest at Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk

VITEBSK, 13 July (BelTA) – Mariya Magilnaya of Belarus won the grand prix of the 15th international children music contest Vitebsk 2017, BelTA has learned.

The gala concert and the award ceremony took place in the Vitebsk concert hall on 13 July. The president of the jury, the singer Varvara said that every contestant can already be described as a professional singer. She said there were many victories ahead of them. She thanked the kids, their parents and pedagogues for the colossal amount of work they had done. She also spoke in glowing terms about the staging of the entire contest.

The grand prix winner had to be satisfied with applause and congratulations for now. She will get her prize from Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko this evening. The girl will also perform on the same stage together with prominent artists as another award in addition to $5,000 and the diploma of the contest winner.

The first prize of $3,000 went to Erik Mkrtchian of Armenia. The second prize of $2,000 was split between Sesil from Bulgaria and Yerzhan Maxim from Kazakhstan. Yekaterina Kretova from Russia and Marija Spasovska from Macedonia had to share the third prize of $1,000. Special prizes were also awarded by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia. Special prizes from the jury were also awarded to representatives of Macedonia, Georgia, Moldova, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Israel, the USA, Greece, and Lithuania.
