Belarus’ Yuri Danilochkin in top 20 at Audi FIS Ski World Cup in Schladming

Belarus’ Yuri Danilochkin in top 20 at Audi FIS Ski World Cup in Schladming

MINSK, 12 February (BelTA) – Yuri Danilochkin of Belarus beat his personal record to take 19th spot in the super-combined competition at Audi FIS Ski World Cup in Schladming, Austria, on 11 February, BelTA learnt from the Belarusian Alpine Skiing and Snowboard Federation.

After 28th position in the downhill race Yuri Danilochkin considerably improved his statistics in the slalom run to take the 19th place. He avoided the majority of gross errors committed by many recognized favorites.

At the 2011 FIS Alpine Ski World Championships in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany Yuri Danilochkin finished 20th in the super-combined event.

Making it into top twenty in such a difficult sports program is highly prestigious, especially for such a young athlete as Yuri Danilochkin who is celebrating his 22nd birthday in a week.

As BelTA has earlier reported, Maria Shkanova of Belarus made it into top 30 in the super-combined event in Schladming on 8 February 2013.
