Presidential election 2015 in Belarus

6,129 polling stations set up for Belarus president election

MINSK, 11 August (BelTA) - More than 6,100 polling stations were established in Belarus and outside the country for the presidential election, reads the website of the Belarus Central Election Commission, BelTA has learned.

939 polling stations were set up in Brest Oblast, 848 in Vitebsk Oblast, 1070 in Gomel Oblast, 692 in Grodno Oblast, 1,032 in Minsk Oblast, 782 in Mogilev Oblast, and 717 in the city of Minsk.

Forty-nine poling stations have been set up for Belarusian citizens living outside the country. Thus they will be able to cast their vote in favor of one of the candidates for the post of head of state. the CEC has published the list of the countries and addresses of the Belarusian embassies where the polling stations will be set up: Vienna (Austria), Baku (Azerbaijan), Yerevan (Armenia), Brussels (Belgium), Sofia (Bulgaria), London (United Kingdom), Budapest (Hungary), Caracas (Venezuela), Berlin and Munich (Germany), Tel Aviv (Israel), New Delhi (India), Rome and Milan (Italy), Astana (Kazakhstan), Ottawa (Canada), Beijing and Shanghai (China), Havana (Cuba), Riga and Daugavpils (Latvia), Vilnius (Lithuania), Chisinau (Moldova), The Hague (Netherlands), Bialystok, Gdansk, Warsaw and Biala Podlaska (Poland), Abu Dhabi (U.A.E.), Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kaliningrad and Rostov-on-Don (Russia), Belgrade (Serbia), Bratislava (Slovakia), Washington and New York (United States), Ankara and Istanbul (Turkey), Tashkent (Uzbekistan), Kiev (Ukraine), Paris (France), Helsinki (Finland), Prague (Czech Republic), Bern (Switzerland), Quito (Ecuador), Tallinn (Estonia), Pretoria (South Africa), Tokyo (Japan).

All in all, there wil be 6,129 polling stations.

The Belarus president election is scheduled for 11 October 2015.
