MINSK, 11 October (BelTA) – Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Aleinik met with Kyrgyz Minister of Foreign Affairs Zheenbek Kulubaev in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan on 11 October, BelTA has learned.
The meeting took place as part of the Belarusian delegation’s participation in a session of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Commonwealth of Independent States. Sergei Aleinik and Zheenbek Kulubaev underlined the strategic nature of Belarus-Kyrgyzstan relations and mutual interest in further increase in interaction between Minsk and Bishkek in a large number of cooperation avenues.
During the meeting the sides stated positive dynamics in Belarus-Kyrgyzstan trade. They discussed ways to further step up trade and economic cooperation. Close attention was paid to expanding interaction in agriculture, manufacturing cooperation, to the possibility of Belarus taking part in the development of multimodal transport infrastructure.
Sergei Aleinik and Zheenbek Kulubaev discussed social and humanitarian aspects of Belarus-Kyrgyzstan cooperation, in particular, interaction in education, culture, and tourism.
The sides also reviewed interaction within the framework of international organizations, first of all, in the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Eurasian Economic Union, the Collective Security Treaty Organization, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and the United Nations Organization.
