MFA: Peter Szijjarto’s visit to Minsk will foster Belarus-Hungary cooperation

MINSK, 23 April (BelTA) – The visit of Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto will strengthen the Belarus-Hungary cooperation, spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Dmitry Mironchik told a press briefing on 23 April, BelTA has learned.

Peter Szijjarto will arrive in Belarus on a working visit at the invitation of Belarus’ Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei on 29 April. “The sides are set to discuss a wide range of issues regarding the bilateral cooperation and the development of the Belarus-EU dialogue,” Dmitry Mironchik said.

Belarus’ Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Alena Kupchyna co-chairing the Belarus-Hungary intergovernmental commission for economic cooperation is currently in Budapest on a visit from 23 till 24 April. She is expected to hold meetings with Peter Szijjarto and Hungarian State Secretary for EU Affairs, the co-chair of the Belarus-Hungary intergovernmental commission for economic cooperation, State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade Laszlo Szabo.

The sides have plans to discuss the prospects of the bilateral cooperation including the preparations for the next session of the intergovernmental commission to be held in Budapest in autumn 2015. They will also talk over the development of the Belarus-EU dialogue and the preparations for the Eastern Partnership summit in Riga that will take place in May.

Besides, Alena Kupchyna will attend the official opening ceremony of the new building of the Belarusian Embassy in Hungary on 24 April.
