MOSCOW, 18 May (BelTA) – Chairwoman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia Valentina Matviyenko and Russian Vice Premier Olga Golodets will take part in the 3rd Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia that is due in Minsk on 7-8 June, BelTA learnt from the press service of the upper chamber of the Russian parliament.
Russia will also be represented at the event by Minister of Education and Science Dmitry Livanov, Minister of Labor and Social Security Maksim Topilin, heads of federal and regional government bodies, businessmen.
Breakout sessions will discuss the experience of regional and local authorities of Belarus and Russia in trade, economic, sci-tech, humanitarian, and cultural cooperation. The plenary meeting of the forum will highlight the implementation of the coordinated social and economic policy in the Union State: achievements and problems, solutions and perspectives.
The program of the forum will also include the meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Commission of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus and the Federation Council on Interregional Cooperation. The forum will also feature exhibitions and trading fairs. It is expected that agreements on cooperation will be signed between the regions of Belarus and Russia.
The forum is organized by the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus and the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.
