Belarus, Nicaragua preparing to abolish visa requirements

MINSK, 19 May (BelTA) - Belarus and Nicaragua are preparing to abolish visa requirements, Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Aleinik told the media following the talks with Nicaraguan Foreign Minister Denis Moncada Colindres in Minsk on 19 May, BelTA has learned.

Belarus and Nicaragua intend to develop a bilateral legal framework. As Sergei Aleinik explained, the countries are now working on several draft documents. Among them are the agreements on trade and economic cooperation, the promotion and mutual protection of investments, on a joint committee on trade and economic cooperation and the abolition of visa requirements.

"We are very close to completing work on these documents and we agreed with the minister to speed up this work as much as possible to get them signed in the very near future," Sergei Aleinik noted.

Belarus and Nicaragua also intend to continue working on projects in industrial cooperation, agriculture and the supply of Belarusian passenger and road-building vehicles and agricultural machines. In addition, the countries agreed to expand cooperation in education and culture.
