Belarus, Georgia confirm interest in strengthening cooperation

MINSK, 1 March (BelTA) – Belarus and Georgia have confirmed their interest in strengthening bilateral cooperation. Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko and Georgia President Giorgi Margvelashvili signed a joint statement following the negotiations, BelTA has learned.

The parties confirmed their equal interest in expanding bilateral cooperation at all levels and all areas of mutual interest.

The document reads that Belarus and Georgia intend to maintain close dialogue aimed at promoting comprehensive friendly relations.

Alexander Lukashenko and Giorgi Margvelashvili noted with satisfaction the positive tendencies in the bilateral relations and highlighted the importance of enhancing humanitarian, scientific and educational cooperation.

As a result of the negotiations the two leaders signed intergovernmental agreements on air communication and investment promotion and security.
