MINSK, 18 December (BelTA) – A draft agreement on readmission between Belarus and the EU has been fully harmonized, Aleksei Begun, Head of the Citizenship and Migration Department of the Belarusian Interior Ministry, told a press conference, BelTA has learned.
The draft readmission agreement has been fully harmonized and is in a high degree of readiness for further consultations and subsequent signature. The EU representatives, according to Aleksei Begun, are likely to visit Belarus next year. “The day after tomorrow we will hold relevant consultations between Belarus and the EU and this issue, I think, will be on the agenda too,” Aleksei Begun noted.
He also said that a delegation of EU experts is expected to visit Belarus for the final discussion of the draft visa facilitation agreement. “There are some inconsistent wordings,” Aleksei Begun added.
