Belarus attends Visegrad Group 4+2 meeting

MINSK, 12 September (BelTA) – A delegation of the Belarusian State Control Committee is taking part in a meeting of the heads of the Supreme Audit Institutions of the Visegrad Group (the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia) and also of Austria and Slovenia (Visegrad Group 4+2), BelTA learned from the press service of the State Control Committee.

The Belarusian delegation is led by Chairman of the State Control Committee Leonid Anfimov. The meeting of the Visegrad Group 4+2 is taking place in Spisska Nova Ves, Slovakia. Attending the meeting are the heads of the supreme audit institutions of the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, Austria, and Slovenia. The delegations of Belarus and Moldova have been invited as observers. The Visegrad Group 4+2 is expected to consider issues related to the analytical component of the activity of the audit authorities, the quality of control activities and information sharing.

Chairman of the State Control Committee Leonid Anfimov will deliver a report on the analytical activities of the Belarusian supreme audit institution. There will also be a presentation of the State Control Committee.

An invitation to participate in the work of the Visegrad 4+2 was extended to the Belarusian side during a working visit of the delegation of the State Control Committee to Slovakia this spring. This proposal was supported by other members of the group.

Visegrad Group 4 +2 is an independent expert forum. It is composed of the Heads of the Supreme Audit Institutions of the Visegrad states (Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia) and also Austria and Slovenia. The mission of Visegrad Group 4 + 2 is to identify common topics and interests in public external audits; to discuss the issues affecting the common interests and develop approaches to their solution; to establish a forum for the exchange of ideas and positions on matters of common interest.
