MINSK, 14 September (BelTA) – Sales of textile raw materials from Türkiye via the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange have begun, the BUCE press service told BelTA.

A major Turkish manufacturer of artificial and natural yarn, fiber, and filament has sold its products via BUCE for the first time. The deal to sell 40 tonnes of viscose yarn to a Belarusian textile industry enterprise was closed via BUCE’s industrial and consumer goods platform. Manufacturers from Moldova, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan have already responded to purchase bids of Belarusian enterprises this year. Thus, the geography of the foreign suppliers of textile raw materials that use BUCE’s trade platform for operations on the Belarusian market now includes four countries.

The BUCE press service said: “This deal is another example of how the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange has helped a Belarusian enterprise promptly find a foreign manufacturer of the products the Belarusian enterprise needs. In this case the commodity exchange attracted suppliers from several countries but the Turkish company offered the most profitable terms. On the whole, in 2023 Belarus-Türkiye trade demonstrates high positive dynamics. The sum of deals closed by Turkish trade participants in January-August exceeded the sum of the entire year of 2022 by 31%. The key growth drivers were active purchases of Belarusian sawn timber, including using the address mechanism, as well as export of ferrous and non-ferrous metal waste to Türkiye.”

According to BUCE, 18 new residents of Türkiye have started operating via BUCE since early 2023. At present 50 companies from Türkiye, including one exchange broker, are represented at BUCE.
