Russia’s Novosibirsk Oblast to double purchase of Belarusian harvesters from 2024

Russia’s Novosibirsk Oblast to double purchase of Belarusian harvesters from 2024

MINSK, 11 October (BelTA) – Russia’s Novosibirsk Oblast seeks to double the purchase of Belarusian harvesters starting from 2024, Novosibirsk Oblast Governor Andrei Travnikov said at the sixth meeting of the Business Cooperation Council of Belarus and Novosibirsk Oblast, BelTA reports.

“Over the past two years, interaction with Belarus has increased considerably across the board. The government of Novosibirsk Oblast strongly supports the creation of a Belarusian multi-brand equipment center based on MTZ-Siberia. In addition to that, cooperation on upgrading combine harvesters continues. This year we plan to launch a harvester production program, discuss commercial and technical details, as well as efforts to double the volume of supplies starting from 2024,” the governor said.

According to Andrei Travnikov, the Belarusian company Mogilevliftmash supplied 37 elevators to Novosibirsk Oblast last year, plus 30 elevators in the first half of 2023. “There are plans to purchase at least 22 more elevators by the end of the year. In addition to that, the Ministry of Housing and Utilities and the energy sector of Novosibirsk Oblast have agreed with the Belarusian company Polymerconstruction to participate in a project to build and upgrade wastewater treatment facilities in our region. Two such projects are under discussion now,” the governor added.

He also mentioned cooperation in biotechnology and plans to implement joint projects to support talented children and promote military and patriotic education. He noted that over the past two years, cooperation in science has been expanded and fleshed out. “The list of more than 40 projects has been expanded by projects in the IT sector and in the field of medical technologies. As far as education is concerned, inter-university partnerships are on the up. Currently, several dozen agreements are in force between universities. Undergraduate and postgraduate students and teachers do not only actively participate in joint scientific and educational events, but also implement joint projects. I think we still have room for growth and make our interaction more substantive and effective,” summed up Andrei Travnikov.
