MOSCOW, 28 September (BelTA) – Krasnodar Krai will purchase 231 passenger vehicles from Belarus, which is a record number, Krasnodar Krai Governor Veniamin Kondratyev said as he met with Belarus’ Industry Minister Aleksandr Rogozhnik, BelTA reports citing the press service of the Krasnodar Krai administration.

“We are interested in growing our trade, primarily trade in public transport vehicles. Today the region is actively renewing its public transport fleet and purchasing modern and environmentally friendly vehicles. Krasnodar residents have already appreciated the comfort of Belarusian trolleybuses, which confirms that we are doing the right thing. By the end of next year we will purchase another 90 trams and 7 electric buses for Krasnodar, 50 buses and 9 electric buses for Sochi, 15 trolleybuses for Novorossiysk. We have never purchased public transport in such quantities before,” said Veniamin Kondratyev.

According to the Russian governor, there are also plans to purchase 60 MAZ buses worth RUB1.3 billion using treasury loans. The purchase will be completed by 1 February 2024.

“I would like to express sincere gratitude. Our president Aleksandr Lukashenko cites interaction between Belarus and Krasnodar Krai as an example of efficient cooperation. We have done a lot of joint work, and taking into account today’s agreements, even more will be accomplished. We will keep it up,” said Aleksandr Rogozhnik.
