PM: Russian investment in Belarus’ economy up one third in H1 2023

MINSK, 29 November (BelTA) - Russian investment in the real sector of the Belarusian economy increased by a third in H1 2023 compared with the same stretch a year ago, Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko said at a meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Belarus-Russia Union State in Moscow on 29 November, BelTA has learned.

According to Roman Golovchenko, the presence of Russian business in Belarus is constantly growing. “More and more new venues are being used for communication between business representatives in addition to the already traditional exhibitions. Among the most recent examples are the international cooperation forum on import substitution “Made in Russia” held in Mogilev in October and the recently completed international business week in Ufa,” he said.

“In the first half of the year, Russian investments in the real sector of the Belarusian economy soared by one third compared to the previous year and amounted to more than 60% of all foreign investment. As part of import substitution programs, Russian companies are actively placing orders for the manufacture of component parts, units and final products at Belarusian enterprises. These are just some of the results of our joint efforts,” Roman Golovchenko said.
