PM names key tasks for Belarus’ economy in 2023

MINSK, 10 March (BelTA) - Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko named three key tasks for the Belarusian economy in 2023 as he spoke at the meeting of the Council of Ministers that was chaired by the head of state to consider the country’s economic performance in 2022 and map out plans to address social and economic development tasks for 2023, BelTA has learned.

“We believe that in order to solve social and economic development tasks this year we should proceed from the tasks set by the president in his 2022 Address to the Belarusian people. Let me remind you that there were two key tasks set. The first one was to ensure sustainable operation of enterprises. The second one was to do everything possible so that the ordinary people would not feel the negative consequences of the external pressure,” Roman Golovchenko said.

According to him, there are three key tasks to be solved in 2023 in order to meet the set parameters for economic development. “The first one is the sustainable work of the real sector of the economy. The second one is proactive investment policy of the state. The third one is to solve the most important issues that concern the population: income, housing and utilities, roads, healthcare and so on,” the prime minister added.
