MINSK, 31 October (BelTA) - The GDP growth by the end of the year will not be rapid, but stable, Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko told the media after his meeting with the Belarusian president on 31 October, BelTA has learned.

During his report to the head of state, Roman Golovchenko said that the GDP decline was stopped in July 2022: “GDP added 0.2% in September and another 0.3% up is expected in October.”

Talking to the media later, he said that the task set earlier by the president to keep the level of GDP in 2022 at least at the level of 2021 is still relevant for the government. “The task is not removed, it is being fulfilled. The gross domestic product of the country is increasing: in September we added 0.2%, in October we are expected to go up by another 0.3% and keep growing up till the end of the year. The growth may not be very rapid, but it will be stable and confident.”

According to him, when comparing the GDP, the high base of the last year should be taken into account. “It is hard to be guided by the high rate of the previous year,” the prime minister said.
