PM: Belarus’ GDP growth is projected at 3.8% in 2024

MINSK, 29 August (BelTA) - GDP growth in Belarus is projected at 3.8% in 2024, Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko said at a meeting of the Council of Ministers on 29 August, BelTA has learned.

The draft social and economic development forecasts, monetary policy targets and the national budget for 2024 are on the agenda of the Council of Ministers’ meeting today. “We are actually finalizing these documents before submitting them to the head of state. The entire package of forecast documents was considered and generally approved at the meeting of the Presidium of the Council of Ministers earlier this month. The key parameters of the work of the government and the National Bank have not undergone any changes. The targets of a mobilization approach to economic development have been preserved. GDP growth should make up 3.8%. This is higher than the global growth,” Roman Golovchenko said.

Capital investments are forecast to grow 3.9%. Plans are in place to implement 163 regional, 77 import-substituting and 16 integration projects.

Some 4.8 million square meters of housing is to be built, including 1.4 million square meters with state support. A total of Br7.5 billion is planned to be allocated on infrastructure development in the regions.
