Minister: Belarus increases farm exports to all countries with which it cooperates

MINSK, 15 November (BelTA) - Belarus has increased farm exports to all countries with which it cooperates, Belarusian Agriculture and Food Minister Igor Brylo said at the 28th edition of the international food show Prodexpo in Minsk, BelTA reports.

"Despite the sanctions, food production and sale have not shrunk in Belarus. I am sure that we will exceed the export target of $8 billion. We have increased deliveries to absolutely all our markets this year. For example, we ramped up supplies to Russia, the CIS countries, China, the European Union, Asia, Oceania, Africa and others," the minister said.

He also noted that Belarus produces a wide range of goods: more than 1,800 items of dairy products, more than 1,0000 meat products and also a wide range of confectionery. "Our technologists do not stop there. Almost every month more and more new products appear on the shelves of Belarusian stores," Igor Brylo emphasized.

According to him, the Russian Federation is a strategic partner for Belarus. In January-September trade between the two countries exceeded $6 billion. Belarus’ supplies to Russia have amounted to $4 billion this year. The trade show features manufacturers from Vietnam, Azerbaijan, Indonesia.

The 28th edition of the international food show Prodexpo is running in Minsk from 15 to 18 November. The event features 20 thematic stands featuring a wide range of products: from everyday products, organic food for a healthy lifestyle to exquisite delicacies. The showcase has brought by more than 100 exhibitors, including foreign companies. The greatest presence has been put together by several regions of Russia: Astrakhan, Arkhangelsk, Pskov, Ryazan, Stavropol and others.
