Lukashenko in favor of additional guarantees for responsible investors

MINSK, 31 March (BelTA) – It is necessary to offer a package of additional guarantees for responsible investors. Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko made the statement in his Address to the nation and the parliament on 31 March, BelTA has learned.

Aleksandr Lukashenko said: “It is necessary to seriously invest in manufacturing. These things are not so good for now. Our fixed-capital investments went down by 19%! Although the realization of over 150 projects was completed. This year we just have to reverse the investment trend of the last few years.”

The matter of conditions conducive to investments is also topical. “It is necessary to involve them in projects where the products we need are manufactured or where these products represent an irreplaceable link in national manufacturing chains. A package of additional guarantees for responsible investors is needed. For instance, direct purchases of products by the government, reimbursement of some of the capital outlays, the creation of readily available manufacturing sites, of infrastructure,” the head of state stressed.

In his words, rules for investors are simple: new jobs, decent salaries, a respectable social package for the employees, introduction of innovations and assistance with the expansion of competences.
