Gomel Economic Forum gathers record high number of foreign participantsGOMEL, 20 May (BelTA) – The 13th Gomel Economic Forum which is to take place in the oblast center on 20 May will welcome a record high number of foreign participants in its history, almost 300 people from 29 countries, BelTA learnt from the Gomel department of foreign economic relations.

Among foreign participants of the event are official delegations, members of embassies, workers of banking and financial establishments, businessmen. Interest in the forum has been showed from highly developed countries such as China, Germany, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Austria. Attending the forum for the first time will be representatives of Ireland, Croatia, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Syria.

Gomel Economic Forum gathers record high number of foreign participantsOver 600 people will take part in the plenary session that will be divided into five sections. Over 150 projects will be suggested for implementation; more than 220 land plots will be offered for setting up new manufacturing facilities and 145 real estate units for purchase.

Gomel Economic Forum gathers record high number of foreign participantsEleven documents worth $303 million are expected to be signed at the plenary session. Among them are agreements and memorandums of understanding on the implementation of investment projects in Gomel Oblast. For example, an investment agreement will be signed to produce perforated metal sheets, an innovative product needed in the industry and agriculture, in Gomel.

Gomel Economic Forum gathers record high number of foreign participantsGuests will have a chance to visit the region’s biggest exhibition Spring in Gomel that is running from 19 to 21 May. The exhibition features a wide range of goods and services produced in the south-eastern area of Belarus.
