MOSCOW, 16 November (BelTA) - Belarusian Ambassador to Russia Dmitry Krutoi held talks with Tomsk Oblast Governor Vladimir Mazur at the Russia International Exhibition and Forum at VDNKh in Moscow on 16 November, BelTA learned from the press service of the diplomatic mission.

"First of all, the ambassador gave the governor a tour of the exposition in the Belarusian pavilion at VDNKh. The parties started the conversation with what they saw (first of all, Belarusian-made drones). The large and often hard-to-reach region is defined in Russia as one of the hubs for the development of these competencies. It operates an experimental legal regime. Tomsk Oblast is interested in Belarusian experience and cooperation projects," the press service said.

The parties discussed the results of the recent visit of the Tomsk delegation to Belarus and reviewed the status of the agreements. Amkodor and Pozhsnab are already supplying equipment to the region, preparing to install Belarusian ventilation systems in educational institutions. The parties also paid attention to the fledgling interaction in microelectronics (Belarus’ Integral - Tomsk Mikron) and support by academic institutions," the diplomatic mission emphasized.

The ambassador and the governor evaluated the prospects for cooperation in agriculture and forestry, noted the demand for relevant engineering goods  in the wake of withdrawal of Western companies. "Vladimir Mazur said that the region is very interested in Belarusian water purification and water treatment technologies made by Polymerconstruction company which the ambassador is happy to advertise at every meeting with governors. The Vitebsk company delivers turnkey projects and has already gained presence in 32 Russian regions," the press service stated

"The ambassador and the governor agreed to continue discussing the agenda of Dmitry Krutoi's visit to Tomsk (scheduled for the first quarter of 2024). The ambassador promised to bring a Belarusian delegation to discuss the development of civilian UAVs," the diplomatic mission added.
