Contracts on oil delivery to Belarus in 2022 ‘practically signed’

Contracts on oil delivery to Belarus in 2022 ‘practically signed’

MINSK, 6 December (BelTA) – Contracts on oil deliveries to Belarus in 2022 have been practically signed, BelTA learned from an interview of Deputy Head of the Belarus President Administration Dmitry Krutoi with the TV channel Belarus One.

Dmitry Krutoi said: “Oil delivery contracts have been practically signed. There will be no issues with the oil market either [Belarus and Russia previously agreed that the next year’s price for Russian natural gas for Belarus will remain at the current level of $128.5 per 1,000m3]. They are a stabilizing factor for the development of our economy next year.”

The official stated that energy industry is a fundamental condition for the development of Belarus.

Asked how much oil Belarus intends to buy, Dmitry Krutoi said: “As much as this year. The state budget specifies a more conservative scenario – as much as 12.5 million tonnes will be processed. But the target is 16-17 million tonnes. Some will be delivered by rail and some by pipelines. This is why the two Belarusian oil refineries will be fully supplied with oil next year. There are no issues with that.”
