China Merchants Group aims to expand strategic partnership with Belarus

MINSK, 5 May (BelTA) - China Merchants Group aims to expand strategic partnership with Belarus, BelTA learned from the Belarusian embassy in China.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to China Yuri Senko met with Chairman of the Board of the China Merchants Group Miao Jianmin. The diplomat congratulated him on the 150th anniversary of the foundation of the corporation and thanked the team of China Merchants Group for active cooperation with Belarus.

Miao Jianmin assured the Belarusian side that the corporation aimed to further deepen and expand the bilateral strategic partnership within the framework of the Belt and Road initiative and the Great Stone Industrial Park.

The parties exchanged views on new promising areas of cooperation and agreed to intensify direct contacts between business representatives of the two countries.

China Merchants Group is a large state-owned corporation registered in Hong Kong. The company was founded in 1872. It specializes in three main areas: transport (ports, public roads, energy transportation and logistics, ship repair and marine engineering), finance (banks, securities, funds, insurance) and real estate. China Merchants Group is the largest shareholder of the Industrial Park Development Company.
