MINSK, 28 March (BelTA) – Exports to African countries soared 5.3 times in 2023. Deliveries to China rose 4.8 times over the past five years, Chairman of the Belarusian food industry concern Belgospischeprom Oleg Zhidkov told the Economy of Belarus Magazine.

“The main exports to China are rapeseed oil, chocolate and chocolate candies, cookies, liquor and sparkling wines, and sugar. In 2022 we were only eyeing African countries, while last year we concluded long-term contracts for the supply of sugar (Somalia, Burkina Faso, Ghana), brewing malt (Equatorial Guinea), press cake and rapeseed oil. Strategic exports are sugar, brewing malt and vegetable oil,” Oleg Zhidkov specified.

According to him, the sale of the concern’s products in Türkiye is gaining momentum. A number of agreements have been signed with Vietnam to ship confectionery products and sparkling drinks. The geography of exports features 49 countries. The concern runs a foreign trade surplus.
