Belarusian companies sign $4m worth of contracts at Gulfood expo in Dubai

MINSK, 28 February (BelTA) – Belarusian enterprises have signed contracts worth more than $4 million at the Gulfood 2023 food industry exhibition in Dubai, the UAE, BelTA learned from the exhibition enterprise Belinterexpo of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BelCCI).

Belarusian enterprises reached agreements on the supply of their products to distributors, wholesale buyers and food manufacturers from around the world.

Rogachev Milk Canning Plant signed an agreement of intent with a UAE resident company to supply $500,000 worth of canned milk products. The company also held negotiations with companies from Singapore, Kenya, New Zealand, Libya and China. A possibility to supply condensed milk was discussed with retail networks of Qatar. A company from Saudi Arabia expressed a great interest in condensed milk with coffee flavor, so now the parties are negotiating the price of products.

Mogilev Dairy Company Babushkina Krynka held talks with companies from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, India, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Israel. The company also reached agreements with Indonesia on a $945,000 contract for milk powder.

Companies from Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Syria, Türkiye, as well as entrepreneurs from Iraq and Ghana got interested in baby food made by Volkovysk-based Bellakt. Preliminary agreements were reached to ship milk powder worth $2 million to China.

Kommunarka confectionery struck a deal to supply products to Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq, the United Arab Emirates, Palestine, Pakistan and India. The company’s new drop  - sugar-free protein candies – caught the eye of visitors. Slonim Meat Processing Plant held talks with companies from Malaysia, the United Arab Emirates, New Zealand, Uzbekistan, China, Azerbaijan and Egypt, while Volkovysk Meat Processing Plant met with potential buyers from China, Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Uzbekistan and Canada. In total, Belarusian enterprises signed contracts worth more than $4 million at the exhibition.

Representatives of 12 Belarusian enterprises came to the expo with a view to increasing their presence in other countries and showcasing their best products.

The exposition featured a wide range of items: meat products, semi-finished products, canned food, baby food, confectionery, including new launches like powdered milk mixtures, beef steaks, sugar-free protein candies.

In 2023, more than 5,000 companies from 125 countries took part in the exhibition. Belarusian manufacturers participated in the expo for the eight time in a row. The country’s exposition was titled “Belarus - The Taste of Nature”. The organizer of the Belarusian exposition and the exclusive representative of the Gulfood expo is the the exhibition enterprise Belinterexpo of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
