Belarusian Belshina to greatly increase tire export to Pakistan, Turkey

MOGILEV, 20 November (BelTA) – The Belarusian tire maker Belshina will export a lot more tires to Pakistan and Turkey. The relevant agreement was reached when Belshina’s top executives took part in business forums in these countries, Belshina Press Secretary Victoria Kulik told BelTA.

Belshina and Pakistani partners have agreed to start exporting Belarusian tires to Pakistan. The tires are intended for agricultural machines. The first batch will be worth €400,000. A number of memorandums of understanding have been signed with Pakistani companies. The documents may evolve into concrete cooperation in the future. All in all, in January-October 2015 Belshina’s export to Pakistan rose by 50% in comparison with the same period of last year to nearly $3 million.

Successful results of bilateral cooperation were mentioned as a result of business meetings and negotiations during the latest Belarusian investment forum in Turkey. In January-October 2015 Belshina’s export to Turkey exceeded $1 million, four times as much as in the same period of last year. During the forum managers of the Bobruisk-based enterprise also sketched out concrete plans for the next year together with their foreign partners. In particular, one of the Turkish companies expressed interest in getting more car tires and truck tires in 2015 to the tune of about $3 million, including car tires of the new Artmotion lineup.

The Belarusian tire factory was founded in 1972. It was converted into the public joint-stock company (OAO) Belshina in 2002. Belshina is one of Europe’s top tire makers. The company offers over 350 standard sizes and models of tires. The company trades with 63 countries. The main domestic consumers include Belarus’ largest enterprises such as BelAZ, MAZ, MTZ, MZKT, Gomselmash, and Amkodor. OAO Belshina comprises a factory that makes large tires, a mass market tires factory, a giant tires factory, and a machining factory that provides the core process with equipment and tools.
