MINSK, 18 April (BelTA) - The Belarusian timber, woodworking, pulp and paper industry concern Bellesbumprom plans to promote Belarusian products on the market of Uzbekistan, BelTA learned from the press service of the concern.

A Belarusian delegation led by Bellesbumprom Deputy Chairman Gennady Dikovitsky paid a working visit to Fergana Region at the invitation of Khayrullo Bozorov, the khokim of Fergana Region. The delegation included representatives of the Newsprint Plant and the Mozyr Woodworking Plant.

“Belarus-Uzbekistan cooperation in the furniture, woodworking, pulp and paper industry is actively developing. Partners from Uzbekistan are attracted by the quality of Belarusian products. Not all the reserves for cooperation have been exhausted yet. The goal of the business trip was to establish even more cooperation and to promote Belarusian products in the market of Uzbekistan,” the press service of the concern stressed.

The result of the joint work with Uzbek colleagues was the opening of the Belarus furniture house in Fergana. Today, the furniture house features products from three Belarusian factories - FanDOK, Yelsk Furniture Factory (a branch of Mozyr Woodworking Plant), and Newspaper Plant (a house-building branch). Uzbekistan is interested in Belarusian furniture due to its quality and variety, so the plan is to expand the range and increase the number of Belarusian brands represented in the furniture house.

While in Uzbekistan, Belarusian representatives held a meeting with Maksad Isakov, the deputy khokim of the Fergana Region on construction. Belarusian and Uzbek colleagues visited Eco City residential complex to accommodate 80,000 people. The project is under construction. The parties discussed the possibility of opening a showroom within the residential complex to showcase products of Belarusian manufacturers, which are in demand in the construction and arrangement of residential premises: thermal insulating panels, wallpaper, interior doors, furniture and others.

The Belarusian delegation visited Buvayda District of Fergana Region to meet District Khokim Bekzod Ibragimov. The parties discussed prospects of furniture production and tourism development. The delegation also visited a sanatorium and resort zone in Buvayda District, where tourism infrastructure is being actively developed. The parties considered the possibility of supplying wooden houses, saunas and gazebos produced by the house-building branch of the Newsprint Plant.

Besides, the delegation attended the 19th international exhibition Production Technologies. Woodworking. Furniture and Interior - MebelExpo Uzbekistan 2023, in Tashkent. The Belarusian delegation held talks with representatives of a number of companies. Some 200 organizations from 17 countries took part in the exhibition.
