MINSK, 15 April (BelTA) - Belarus plans to reorient 25% of machinery exports to the African market by 2030, Industry Minister Aleksandr Rogozhnik said in an interview to ONT TV channel, BelTA has learned.

“After the main suppliers of machinery left the Russian market, we had a task to fill this niche. If we had not done it, others would have come. Now it would be even more difficult to work in the Russian market,” Aleksandr Rogozhnik said.

The minister noted that while solving this task, the national industry has somewhat missed the markets of the faraway countries. “We have already made some progress here. We have launched supplies to Zimbabwe, Nicaragua. We have made very good progress in the market of Uzbekistan. We have built a multi-brand center of Belarusian machinery there, and two more such centers are under construction. Of course, these are also the projects the president mentioned - Equatorial Guinea, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, South Africa and others,” he said.

According to Aleksandr Rogozhnik, the goal is to reorient 25% of exports to the African market by 2030.
