Belarus’ scientists sign cooperation agreements with Cuban partners

MINSK, 2 August (BelTA) – Organizations affiliated with the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (NASB) signed cooperation agreements with Cuban partners during their visit to Cuba, BelTA learned from the press service of the National Academy of Sciences.

Thus, the National Academy of Sciences signed memorandums of understanding with the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Food Industry of Cuba. The Center for Animal Husbandry of the National Academy of Sciences and Cuba Ron S.A. penned an agreement on sci-tech cooperation that provides for the use of rum production waste in production of animal feed.

In addition, cooperation agreements were signed between the Institute of the Meat and Dairy Industry of the NASB and the Cuban company Labiofam. The Institute of the Meat and Dairy Industry and the Center on Food of the NASB signed cooperation agreements with the Research Institute for Food Industry of Cuba.

Chief Academic Secretary of the National Academy of Sciences Vasily Gursky made a presentation at the international conference “Macroprogram for science, technology and innovation of the National Plan for Economic and Social Development towards 2030: its role in the management of science, technology and innovation”. He also made a report “Development strategy for the agro-industrial complex of the Republic of Belarus: scientific support and implementation mechanisms” as he addressed executives and officials of the agrarian and food sector of Cuba.
