Belarus, Russia to discuss development of Earth remote sensing system in Belarus

MOSCOW, 12 April (BelTA) - The Belarusian embassy’s business and cultural center in Moscow will host a session of the Inter-academy Council for the Development of the Belarus-Russia Union State on 13 April, BelTA learned from the embassy’s press service.

The participants will consider new concepts and draft programs of the Union State, strategies to develop common scientific and technological space in the Union State and evolve the Earth remote sensing system in Belarus. The participants are expected to discuss the establishment of the council’s expert center, announcement of a contest for the prizes of Russia’s and Belarus’ academies of sciences and their participation in the Belarusian Science Days during the 4th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia.

Chief Academic Secretary of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Alexander Kilchevsky, Head of the Office of the NASB Piotr Vityaz, Head of the NASB International Cooperation Office Vladimir Podkopayev will represent the Belarusian side along with other officials. Partaking in the session from the Russian side will be Deputy State Secretary of the Belarus-Russia Union State, Co-Chairman of the Inter-academy Council Alexei Kubrin, and Academic Secretary of the Chemical Physics Problems Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) Elmira Badamshina along with RAS academicians.
