Belarus, Russia back on steady growth track

MINSK, 29 November (BelTA) – Macroeconomic indicators of Russia and Belarus confirm that the two countries have reached a steady growth track. Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenko made the statement at a session of the Council of Ministers of the Union State of Belarus and Russia in Moscow, BelTA has learned.

Roman Golovchenko said: “Macroeconomic indicators of Russia and Belarus confirm that the two countries have reached a steady growth track. All the branches of the power vertical in the two countries are intent on expanding Belarusian-Russian strategic cooperation.”

In his words, systemic interaction between specialized and industry-specific bodies has been established under the supervision of the government. “Joint programs and integration-driven investment projects are being implemented. 23 passports for such projects have already been approved. A mechanism is being worked out for mutual confirmation of technological operations and verifications. Steps are being taken to stimulate the development of manufacturing and sales,” the prime minister noted.

“Joint ventures to assemble agricultural machines have been established in Russia’s Krasnodar Territory, Novosibirsk Oblast, the Republic of Tatarstan this year alone. A new plant to make grain-drying complex has been opened in the Republic of Bashkortostan with assistance of a Belarusian manufacturer. The assembly of harvesters, grain carriers based on MAZ chassis has begun in Krasnodar Territory. The construction of a Belarusian multibrand trade and service center has begun. It will sell, repair, and offer aftersales services for Belarusian machines and vehicles. The retail chains selling Belarusian apparel, footwear, furniture, food, and other products in Russia are growing larger,” Roman Golovchenko said.
