Belarus ready to supply all kinds of equipment to Bangladesh

MINSK, 23 July (BelTA) - Belarus is ready to supply Bangladesh with all kinds of equipment: from farm machines to special-purpose vehicles, Belarus Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Semashko said as he met with Industry Minister of the Republic of Bangladesh Amir Hossain, BelTA has learned.

“For the Republic of Bangladesh Belarus could become a good supplier of equipment: farm machines (tractors, harvesters), vehicles to develop mineral deposits (large dump trucks), special-purpose equipment. We could organize assembly plants with a certain level of localization in your country,” Vladimir Semashko said.

The Deputy Prime Minister also noted that Belarus is ready to supply Bangladesh the products of the Belarusian tire manufacturer which annually makes about 6 million tires of different sizes: from car tires to heavy-duty tires. “We are also ready to discuss the energy issues. Belarus is building a nuclear power plant, and we have already gained good experience in this area. Our experts could participate in the construction of a similar facility in your country,” he said. Another promising avenue for cooperation, according to Vladimir Semashko, is light industry.

"We are interested to see your companies in our market. This market is not only of Belarus, but also Russia, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan. This is the market with a population of about 180 million people which grows fast and adds to 4-5% per year. We can create good conditions for work: whether in the form of foreign or joint ventures. If the product is made here, it is labeled “Made in Belarus" and thus moves, duty free and without restrictions, around the Customs Union,” Vladimir Semashko said.

The Vice Premier stressed that Belarus has managed not only to keep the industry intact but also develop it. "According to the UN, the share of Belarus industry in the world industrial production has increased 2.3 times. Belarus and Bangladesh could be complementary economies to each other," said Vladimir Semashko.
