Belarus’ PM comments on cooperation plans with Russia’s Vladimir Oblast

Belarus’ PM comments on cooperation plans with Russia’s Vladimir Oblast

MINSK, 16 May (BelTA) – Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko spoke about the plans and future areas of cooperation with Vladimir Oblast of Russia during his meeting with Vladimir Oblast Governor Alexander Avdeyev on 16 May, BelTA has learned.

A number of events are held as a part of the visit of Vladimir Oblast delegation, including those with the participation of business representatives of both countries, Roman Golovchenko said. “For example, the Belarusian-Russian investment and cooperation forum between the enterprises of Belarus and Vladimir Oblast is underway these days. All these events are designed to build horizontal ties, which are already quite rich and fruitful. New options for cooperation are always found as part of such events,” the prime minister said.

According to the Belarusian head of government, recently there has been a meeting of the working group on cooperation between Belarus and Vladimir Oblast of Russia, where the issues of mutual cooperation were discussed in detail. Belarusian Economy Minister Aleksandr Chervyakov informed the prime minister about the results of that meeting.

“I would also like to focus on the projects which are seen as the most important for joint implementation in the future. I would like to discuss in detail the project on the establishment of assembly production of Belarusian agricultural and municipal machinery. Today we can make an appropriate decision,” Roman Golovchenko said.

According to the prime minister, Belarus and Vladimir Oblast have good potential for the development of cooperation in the construction sector. “Belarus can take part in the construction of facilities in the Russian region, taking into account its large-scale plans. It is not only the construction of housing and social facilities, but also the reconstruction and modernization of the road network. We have already gained some good experience in this area,” he said.

As for social facilities, Roman Golovchenko added that Belarusian constructors also have a great experience in construction which would be of interest to Vladimir Oblast. “In 2018-2022, 13 social facilities were built in Kaluga Oblast - seven schools and six kindergartens. A kindergarten has also been built in St. Petersburg. A project to construct a school for almost 3,000 students is being implemented in Voronezh Oblast. The project envisages a record short construction period. We have made a commitment to halve the construction time of such an object,” he cited several examples. He added: “This type of cooperation is familiar to us and causes no complaints from the partners.”

Belarus is also interested in cooperation with the Russian region in agriculture and municipal waste management.
