Belarus’ Development Bank plans to sign contracts with Nicaragua worth over $40m in 2024

Belarus’ Development Bank plans to sign contracts with Nicaragua worth over $40m in 2024

MINSK, 4 April (BelTA) – Sergei Stolyarchuk whose candidacy has been approved for the position of the Chairman of the Board of the Development Bank of the Republic of Belarus told reporters about providing financial support for Belarusian exports to the far-arc countries, BelTA has learned.

Sergei Stolyarchuk gave a specific example of how the Development Bank facilitates Belarus’ exports. “A visit to Nicaragua is scheduled for next week.  MAZ vehicles have recently been shipped there for the first time,” he noted. “The Development Bank helped to negotiate the agreements, hosted Nicaraguan delegations, and has been participating in talks for more than five years. We have won them over, we have showed them how they can benefit from buying our products. And now we are getting ready for another trip.”

“There are plans to sign another set of contracts worth more than $40 million this year,” noted Sergei Stolyarchuk. He went on saying: “We are setting a foothold in a new country, a very distant one. Everyone knows how to trade with Russia. But when it comes to cooperation with non-CIS states, we help our clients establish and expand their presence in these markets. After all, when approaching a specific buyer, it is necessary to contact a bank to find out what kind of transactions it will be able to finance.”

“We can’t let our companies, our manufacturers, go to new countries, new regions all alone, even for negotiations. We join them. This is our common task,” Sergei Stolyarchuk remarked.
