MINSK, 3 June (BelTA) – Belarusian Agriculture and Food Minister Igor Brylo spoke about participants of the forthcoming Belagro 2022 expo and planned innovations at a press conference in Minsk on 3 June, BelTA has learned.

“The international exhibition Belagro will be held at the exhibition center of the Great Stone industrial park for the second time in a row. The organizers will include not only the Agriculture and Food Ministry, but also our colleagues from industrial concerns and government agencies. In particular, we feel great support from the Industry Ministry. Traditionally, there will be the National Academy of Sciences, Belgospischeprom Concern and Belcoopsoyuz,” Igor Brylo said.

About 425 companies have confirmed their participation, he said. Among the participating countries are Belarus, Russia, Germany, Poland, China, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Iraq, Nicaragua, and Cuba. There will be 319 Belarusian participants.

According to the minister, in addition to traditional expositions of agricultural machinery, equipment and food, the international exhibition Belfarm and a fishing village exposition, there will be a number of innovations. For example, Belarusian import-substituting fruit and vegetable products will be on display for the first time.

Another innovation is a planned event together with the Defense Ministry. There will be a military orchestra and military food with soldiers' porridge and tea at the exhibition.

According to Igor Brylo, Belarus’ exports to Russia will be actively discussed as well. “It is a topical issue for us now and a number of events are planned with the Russian Federation in this regard. At the moment representatives from Russia are interested in our agricultural machinery, products and other things, so we will be discussing supplies.”

More than 30 Russian regions and 16 separate stands will take part in Belagro. Among them will be stands from Lipetsk, Murmansk, Novosibirsk, Smolensk and other regions.

The exhibition will also be attended by invited guests, including ministers of agriculture of Iraq, Nicaragua, Cuba, Tajikistan and other countries.
