MINSK, 6 December (BelTA) – The tour “Athletic Minsk” will be updated in the run-up to the Second European Games due in the Belarusian capital in 2019, consultant of the Tourism Department of Belarus’ Sport and Tourism Ministry Marina Mastashova told BelTA.
“Just like with the 2014 IIHF World Championship, ahead of the European Games a lot of attention will be paid to training tour guides and guides-interpreters, including those for sport-themed tours. Special attention will be dedicated to this work in 2018. The tour Athletic Minsk will be updated,” Marina Mastashova remarked.
In her words, the European Games will see the best tour guides and guides-interpreters. “They are now being selected. Heads of training courses for tour guides recommend the best graduates who could work with guests, both athletes and fans, in a professional way,” Marina Mastashova clarified.
She pointed to the lack of Chinese interpreters. This problem should be solved with the help of the Institute of Entrepreneurial Activity which trains such specialists. “We expect the inflow of Chinese tourists to increase in anticipation of the Year of Belarus’ Tourism in China,” the consultant summarized.
