NOC president sends greetigns on occassion of International Olympic Day

MINSK, 23 June (BelTA) - Belarus always stands for fair sport, calls on the entire world Olympic community to comply with the principles and ideals of Olympism and not to undermine these foundations reads a message of greetings from President of the Belarusian National Olympic Committee Viktor Lukashenko on the occasion of the International Olympic Day, BelTA learned from the NOC press service.

Throughout its history, the Olympic movement has made an invaluable contribution to maintaining a sustainable dialogue between people. It has no borders and nationalities, is outside of politics and committed exclusively to promoting development and unity,” the head of NOC said. He noted that today international sport is still influenced by the political situation, and remains far from the principles of fair play and rules of the Olympic Charter.

Viktor Lukashenko thanked all those involved in the Olympic movement for their tremendous work and professionalism, invaluable contribution to the popularization of sports in Belarus.
