Lukashenko to continue personnel reshuffling campaign

Lukashenko to continue personnel reshuffling campaign

MINSK, 25 January (BelTA) – More personnel will be reshuffled in the near future. Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko made the statement as he appointed a new healthcare minister, BelTA has learned.

Aleksandr Khodzhayev has been appointed Belarusian Healthcare Minister. The head of state stressed that personnel reshuffling ahead of important election campaigns had become an established practice in Belarus: “Naturally, the campaign did not start with you. Personnel are being replaced, rotated in and out in all the ministries and government agencies. It is a well-known practice. On the eve of parliamentary elections, presidential elections we have always refreshed the composition of the government and municipal authorities. The oblast administrations and the Minsk City Executive Committee. We refreshed them so that people could see who we would work with later on in the course of making decisions during an election – whether this team should be trusted or not. I implemented the practice a long time ago. Today’s is no exception.”

“New people have been put in charge of ministries and government agencies, individual enterprises. And I’ll emphasize once again: such actions on my part (personnel decisions are a prerogative of the president) will continue in the near future. Right up to the presidential election. I don’t want any kind of wavering and some equilibristics in mass media,” Aleksandr Lukashenko added.
