Lukashenko: Belarusians believe in their country

MINSK, 21 March (BelTA) - Belarusians believe in their country and connect their future and the future of their children with it, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he met with the MPs of the House of Representatives and members of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus of the seventh convocation on 21 March, BelTA has learned.

“By voting in favor of the proposed changes in the referendum, people chose a strong state based on the national traditions of people's power, ideals of peace, humanism and social justice as a model for further development of Belarus. They supported the norms aimed at preserving traditional values, the memory of the Great Patriotic War, as well as patriotic education of the younger generation,” the president said.

The updated Constitution was virtually developed by the people and for the people, the Belarusian leader emphasized. “This is the most important thing. We see that people believe in Belarus, connect their future, the future of their children and grandchildren with it. I am talking not just about our citizens. I am also talking about foreigners who have chosen Belarus as a second homeland. Their numbers keep increasing,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
