Lilia Ananich: Belarusians have always decided their own destiny

MINSK, 7 April (BelTA) – Belarus has evolved as an independent state. Only Belarusians have always decided and will decide their own destiny. The fact was emphasized by Belarusian Information Minister Lilia Ananich during the Minsk-Moscow video conference on 7 April, BelTA has learned.

According to the official, Belarus’ information space is open today, with over 5 million Internet users in the country. “We intend to expand our information presence by all means, via joint integration projects. We plan to find ways to better spread the word about Belarus in the world. Not only Belarus needs it today but Europeans, too, as practice has demonstrated,” stressed Lilia Ananich. “Europeans come to Belarus because we are a peace-loving and open country. They feel comfortable here. It is a beautiful and calm country. We treasure the fact and will always follow the policy.”

Lilia Ananich went on saying: “Only Belarusians have always decided and will decide their own destiny. The world is not simple today, it will present new challenges and threats. Belarus has evolved as an independent state. We are going to do everything necessary to dispel all doubts among those, who doubted yesterday that Belarusians can be decent partners in economic projects, who caused problems for our travels abroad, including for Belarusian reporters. Belarus has always pursued a multiple-vector foreign policy. The Belarus president has always sincerely and openly spoken about all the events and processes that happen in the world. It is not an accident, it is the essence and the nature of Belarusian politics and our president.”
