Kochanova: Belarus will never be an aggressor

GOMEL, 2 August (BelTA) -  Belarus will never be an aggressor, Chairperson of the Council of the Republic Natalya Kochanova said as she met with the activists of the Belarusian Women’s Union of Gomel Oblast, BelTA has learned.

Natalya Kochanova spoke about the difficult international situation, the developments along the external contour of the country. "Our country will never be an aggressor. It's beyond us. We have always been a peace-loving country. We will always do everything to preserve peace and calm in our country so that we will never have to go through what our older generation had to during the war," Natalya Kochanova emphasized.

She stressed that Belarus has always advocated only a peaceful settlement of situations.

"All of us must do our jobs well and bear civic responsibility for what is happening in the country. The role of public organizations, including the Belarusian Women’s Union, is very important," she concluded.
