FM: CSTO countries call for de-escalation in tensions at regional, global levels

MINSK, 20 June (BelTA) - The member countries of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) are interested in the de-escalation of tensions at the regional and global levels, Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Aleinik told the media after the meeting of the CSTO Ministerial Council in Minsk on 20 June BelTA has learned.

“We are all interested in the de-escalation of tensions both at the regional and global levels,” Sergei Aleinik said.

The foreign ministers discussed the trends in the development of the regional and international situation, its impact on the security of the CSTO countries, and also exchanged views on further steps to develop external relations.

“It is great that in many respects the approaches of our states to topical issues on the international agenda are very similar,” the minister said.
