FM: Belarus is among world’s most sensible nations

MINSK, 24 July (BelTA) – Belarus is one of the countries that form the core of sanity in the world, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Sergei Aleinik said at the opening of a seminar with heads of diplomatic missions, BelTA has learned.

The minister outlined priority tasks for Belarusian diplomats. They include efforts to counteract sanctions and mitigate their impact, to intensify contacts with allies, traditional partners and friendly nations.

“It is necessary to continue building up cooperation with the countries of the global East and South. The groundwork for this is already in place. We should make the most of our experience of responding to illegitimate sanctions, demonstrating to the world community their counter-productiveness and harmfulness, in order to consolidate friendly countries. Belarus must be positioned as one of the states that form the core of sanity in the changing world,” Sergei Aleinik said.

Moreover, it is necessary to step up efforts to expand this core through the promotion of Belarusian peaceful and constructive initiatives, the foreign minister emphasized. It is important to convey the truth about Belarus and its peaceful foreign policy to constructively-minded political and public figures in all countries.
